However, where the Hotel has acted with intent or gross negligence, the compensation limits under the preceding paragraph and this paragraph shall not apply, and the Hotel shall compensate for the damage in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Article 19 (Custody of the Guest's Baggage or Personal Belongings)
1. At a Staffed Facility, where the Guest's baggage arrives at the Hotel prior to the stay, the Hotel shall keep it in custody responsibly, but only where the Hotel agreed to accept it before its arrival, and shall hand it over to the Guest at check-in at the front desk.
2. At an Unstaffed Facility, due to the nature of its operating format, the Hotel does not provide any service for receiving or storing baggage, etc. arriving at the Hotel prior to the stay. With respect to baggage, etc. sent without the Hotel's prior consent, the Hotel may refuse to receive it, and shall bear no liability whatsoever for loss, damage, or other harm occurring after receipt.
3. Where the Guest's baggage or personal belongings are found left behind at the Hotel after the Guest has checked out, the Hotel shall not individually contact the Guest regarding such baggage or belongings, regardless of whether the owner has been identified. Such items shall be reported to the nearest police station within 7 days, including the day of discovery, in accordance with the Lost Property Act. In addition, food and beverages, tobacco, magazines, consumable items, items that may compromise hygiene, and other items equivalent to waste (items that are clearly broken) shall be discarded on the same day, even within the storage period. Inquiries regarding lost items should be directed by the Guest personally to the Hotel's inquiry desk.
4. In order to properly handle abandoned baggage or personal belongings according to the nature of their contents, the Hotel may inspect the contents at its discretion and, as necessary, return them to the person who lost them or handle them in accordance with the preceding paragraph, and the Guest shall not be entitled to object thereto (in accordance with the Lost Property Act and the Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act).

However, except where the Hotel has acted with intent or gross negligence, the Hotel's liability shall be limited to a maximum of ¥150,000.
6. Where the Guest leaves behind, within the Hotel (including the guest room, common areas, and premises), bulky waste, items equivalent to waste, or baggage, etc. objectively found to have been abandoned (hereinafter "Abandoned Items"), the Hotel may remove and dispose of such Abandoned Items. In such case, the Guest shall compensate the Hotel for disposal costs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and other reasonable damage actually incurred by the Hotel (including the cost of arranging removal and disposal).
Article 20 (Responsibility for Parking)
1. At a facility equipped with a parking lot, where the Guest uses the Hotel's parking lot (including affiliated parking lots), the Hotel merely lends the space, regardless of whether the vehicle key is deposited, and does not assume responsibility for management of the vehicle. However, where the Hotel causes damage in the course of managing the parking lot through its intentional act or negligence, the Hotel shall be liable for compensation.
2. At a facility not equipped with a parking lot, the Hotel does not provide parking. In such case, where the Guest uses a nearby parking lot, etc., the Guest shall bear all responsibility relating to such use, and the Hotel shall bear no responsibility for management of the vehicle or otherwise.

3. Where smoking occurs in a non-smoking area set forth in the preceding paragraph (including smoking in the guest room and discovery of cigarette butts), the Hotel shall charge ¥30,000 as the cost of restoring the guest room, etc. to its original condition (odor removal and cleaning). Where the cost actually required for odor-removal cleaning or other restoration to original condition exceeds ¥30,000, the Hotel shall charge that amount.
Article 22 (Amendment of these Terms and Conditions)
1. Where either of the following items applies, the Hotel may amend the content of these Terms and Conditions without obtaining the individual consent of the Guest, pursuant to Article 548-4 of the Civil Code.
(1) Where the amendment of these Terms and Conditions conforms to the general interests of Guests.
(2) Where the amendment of these Terms and Conditions does not contravene the purpose of the Accommodation Contract, and is reasonable in light of the necessity of the amendment, the appropriateness of the content after amendment, and other circumstances relating to the amendment.
2. Where the Hotel amends these Terms and Conditions pursuant to the preceding paragraph, the Hotel shall determine the effective date of the amended Terms and Conditions and, prior to such effective date, shall give notice of the content of the amended Terms and Conditions and their effective date by posting on the Hotel's official website or other appropriate means.
3. Where the Guest uses the Hotel after notice of the amendment has been given pursuant to the preceding paragraph and after the amended Terms and Conditions have taken effect, the Guest shall be deemed to have agreed to the amendment of these Terms and Conditions.
Article 23 (Handling of Personal Information)
The Hotel shall appropriately manage, use, and protect the Guest's personal information obtained in connection with the conclusion and performance of the Accommodation Contract (including particulars recorded in the guest register, copies of identification documents, etc.) in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the Hotel's separately established Personal Information Protection Policy (Privacy Policy).
